Terre di Chieti Abruzzo, Italy
A unique take on Pinot Grigio. Ramato—meaning ‘copper’—is a classic Italian style found throughout the peninsula made by macerating the pink-hued grape on its skins to pick up lovely pale salmon colour and beautiful texture. Pinot Grigio from Abruzzo holds little in common with the lean, high-acid style from Northern Italy, leaning more towards the ripe, mouth-filling French versions of Pinot Gris. Flavours of stone fruit, golden apple and beeswax that mingle with aromas of ripe citrus and pear. Pair this with pork tenderloin with figs or enjoy lightly chilled on the patio.
