Dão, Portugal
This red is a blend of five different varietals: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, and Agua Santa
Mid cherry red. Fabulously scented red fruits. Ripe but fresh red cherries. Gorgeous intensity of fruit but with a peppery dry character to balance the red fruit. This is a very Portuguese wine, well structured, full bodied and serious; it is well balanced, and the oak is nicely integrated.
Casa de Mouraz takes its name from the monastery of St. Pedro de Mouraz, built by the Cistercians in the 12th century; it was they who planted the first vines where the winery now stands
