Bright, inviting aromas of blueberry and spice on the nose. At first sip, the wine is considerably lighter and more lithe than the winery’s Brunellos, but this is by no means light bodied. The tannic structure is perceptible, but the balance here is offered more by the brilliant fresh acidity. The blueberry is joined by some black cherry and even a hint of raspberry, as well as an earthy character and some stony minerality. The finish is long and fruit-driven. Ready to enjoy now, chill to cellar temperature and serve alongside braised short rib, an antipasto plate, or grilled Italian sausages.
