Classification: IGP
Variety: Gamay Noir
Bottle Size: 1L
Alcohol: 13%
Residual Sugar: .03 g/L
Soil: silt, clay, loam
Farming Practices: Organic practice since 2014
Black cherry, raspberry and damson dominate the nose. There’s also that candied bubblegum note of carbonic maceration in the background adding a touch of complexity but it’s not as overblown as in Beaujolais Nouveau. The palate is fruit-driven and expressive, almost off-dry in style. Flavours of blueberry, cherry and cranberry, with a rich core. There are no tannins to speak of, but the acidity is invigorating and fresh. Chill this lightly and enjoy with a charcuterie board or chill more and chug – this is a “Glou-Glou” after all!
- Domaine de la Combe Vigne L’Astree 2017

Country: France
Classification: AÔC
Variety: Melon de Bourgogne
Bottle Size: 750 ml
Alcohol: 11.8%
Residual Sugar: 0.5 g/L
Soil: Gneiss and schist
Farming Practices: Traditional with de-leafing. Organic principles and Biodynamic methods, particularly phases of the moon.
Rich and textured for a Muscadet. There is a touch of apricot and peach on the nose. The typistic citrus elements are there as well, with a whiff of gun smoke. Ripe green apple, lemon-lime and a hint of peach are framed by fresh acidity and biscuity, autolytic notes. This is a fabulous contemplation wine with plenty of complexity. It would also pair wonderfully with grilled sea bass.
- Chozas Carrascal Las Tres 2019
Producer: Chozas Carrascal
Region: Utiel-Requena
Appellation: Pago Chozas Carrascal
Country: Spain
Classification: DO Pago
Variety: Chardonay, Sauvignon Blanc, Macabeo
Bottle Size: 750 ml
Alcohol: 13%
Residual Sugar: 0.6 g/L
Soil: Clay and limestone
On the nose, gold delicious apple, dark honey, nectarine and a hint of grassiness. The mouthfeel is creamy and medium-full bodied, but there is plenty of mouthwatering acidity as well. The Sauvignon Blanc comes through more on the palate than the nose, with warmer climate tropical fruit notes mixing with some of the malic flavours of the Chardonnay and Macabeo. The oak is not prevalent, but adds a lovely smooth and rounded character. A great partner to roast pork or fall stews.
