They are some of our favourite and have been waiting patiently off our list for the right time to find their way to your cellar. This pack is a must for anyone looking to start building a cellar or needs to add that quintessential Tuscan wine to their collection. For those who don’t know, a vertical is a set of different vintage years of the same wine. A great way to see how a wine can drastically change from one year to another. These 3 vintages define Vino Nobile, made with the best Sangiovese grapes in Montepulciano.

The hot, dry 2017 growing season at Salcheto resulted in full-bodied, soft wines. Through careful vineyard management and grape selection, Michele was able to retain the estate’s textbook balance, freshness and aromatic intensity. The fruit profile is darker than most years and, as always, oak refinement is gentle on the palate. A Nobile for immediate enjoyment.
- Salcheto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2019
Awards: 95-Decanter; 91-Vinous; 90-Wine Spectator; 92-James Suckling
Bright and aromatic, with a mixture of red and black fruits, primarily red cherry, raspberry and plum. The palate is refined and elegant, with fine-grained tannins and perceptible acidity. The red cherry and raspberry continue, with some intriguing savoury, umami elements. There some intense minerality here as well, with that characteristic Sangiovese “sangre”. This is classic Vino Nobile, with textbook balance and mouthwatering freshness, despite its full weight. Pair with grilled chicken, spaghetti Bolognese or an antipasti board.
- Salcheto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2020
Red and black fruits intertwine on the nose, along with hints of savoury and sandalwood. The elegant palate has supple, fine-grained tannins and perceptible acidity. Raspberry, pin cherry and dried herbs mix with intriguing umami, cooked meat notes. The minerality on the backbend adds salinity and the crunchy acidity makes you come back for another sip. Pair with grilled chicken, spaghetti Bolognese or an antipasti board.
